Follow these 7 steps to complete your repair
Power Off and Remove SIM Card
Power off the Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus completely. Once the device is off, use the SIM card eject tool to remove the SIM card tray from the phone. This prevents damage to the SIM card and ensures a smooth repair process.
Heat and Remove Back Cover
Use a heat gun or hair dryer to evenly heat the edges of the back cover for about 1-2 minutes. This softens the adhesive holding it in place. Carefully use a suction cup to lift the back cover and insert a plastic opening tool to gently pry it off. Work your way around the device to release the adhesive, being careful not to damage the glass.
Disconnect Battery
Using the Phillips #00 screwdriver, remove the screws securing the midframe. Carefully lift the midframe and disconnect the battery using a nylon spudger. This is crucial to prevent any electrical issues during the screen replacement.
Remove Old Screen
Heat the edges of the front screen to soften the adhesive. Use the suction cup to lift the screen slightly and insert a plastic opening tool. Gently separate the screen from the frame, starting from the corners and working around the edges. Be careful with the flex cables to prevent damage.
Install New Screen
Align the new screen with the phone's frame and carefully connect the flex cables. Ensure they are properly seated. Use adhesive strips or double-sided tape around the edges to secure the new screen in place. Press firmly to ensure a good bond.
Reconnect Battery and Reassemble
Reconnect the battery to the motherboard. Place the midframe back and secure it with screws. Ensure all connections are secure and properly aligned.
Seal Back Cover
Apply new adhesive strips to the edges of the back cover. Align the cover with the phone and press firmly around the edges to ensure a secure fit. Use the heat gun or hair dryer again to help the adhesive bond.
