Follow these 10 steps to complete your repair
Power Off the Device
Hold the power button and select 'Power Off' from the menu. Wait until the device is completely turned off before proceeding.
Remove the SIM Card Tray
Insert a SIM eject tool or a paperclip into the small hole of the SIM card slot to eject the tray. Remove the SIM card tray and set it aside.
Heat the Screen Edges
Use a heat gun or hairdryer to evenly heat the edges of the screen for about 2-3 minutes. This will soften the adhesive holding the screen in place. Do not overheat.
Separate the Screen from the Body
Attach a suction cup near the top edge of the phone and gently pull up to create a small gap. Insert a plastic opening tool into the gap and carefully slide it around the edges to loosen the adhesive. Be cautious of the flex cable connections.
Disconnect the Screen Cables
Once the screen is loosened, carefully open it like a book. Use a spudger to disconnect the screen flex cable from the motherboard.
Remove the Old Screen
Completely detach the old screen from the device. Remove any remaining adhesive residue from the frame using isopropyl alcohol and a lint-free cloth.
Install the New Screen
Align the new screen with the frame of the phone. Reconnect the screen flex cable to the motherboard and ensure it is securely attached.
Secure the New Screen
Apply new adhesive strips or double-sided tape to the frame. Carefully press the new screen into place, ensuring it is aligned correctly. Apply gentle pressure around the edges to secure the adhesive.
Reassemble the Device
Reinsert the SIM card tray. Power on the device to test the new screen functionality. If the screen is responsive and displays correctly, proceed to fully reassemble the phone.
Final Check
Inspect the device for any gaps or issues. Ensure that all components are securely in place and test all functions of the phone to confirm a successful repair.
