Follow these 10 steps to complete your repair
Power Off the Device
Press and hold the power button, then select 'Power Off' on the screen. Wait until the device is completely powered off.
Remove the SIM Card Tray
Insert a SIM ejection tool into the hole next to the SIM card tray and gently push until the tray pops out. Remove the tray and set it aside.
Heat the Back Cover
Use a heat gun or hairdryer to evenly heat the edges of the back cover. This will soften the adhesive holding it in place. Heat for about 1-2 minutes, ensuring the phone is warm but not too hot to touch.
Remove the Back Cover
Place a suction cup on the back cover and gently pull up to create a gap. Insert a plastic opening tool into the gap and carefully pry around the edges to release the adhesive. Be cautious not to damage the fingerprint sensor cable if applicable.
Disconnect the Battery
Using a Phillips #00 screwdriver, remove the screws securing the battery connector cover. Use a spudger to disconnect the battery connector from the motherboard to prevent any electrical shorts.
Detach the Display Cable
Locate and disconnect the display cable from the motherboard using a spudger. This will free the screen for removal.
Remove the Old Screen
Heat the edges of the front display using the heat gun for about 1-2 minutes. Use a suction cup to lift the screen slightly and insert a plastic opening tool to carefully separate the screen from the frame.
Install the New Screen
Align the new screen with the frame and connect the display cable to the motherboard. Press the screen firmly into place, ensuring the adhesive holds it securely.
Reassemble the Phone
Reconnect the battery connector and replace the connector cover with screws. Place the back cover onto the phone and press around the edges to secure the adhesive. Reinsert the SIM card tray.
Test the New Screen
Power on the device and test the new screen to ensure touch functionality and display quality are working correctly. Perform a thorough check before finalizing the repair.
