Follow these 10 steps to complete your repair
Power Off the Device
Ensure your Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini is completely powered off. Press and hold the power button, then select 'Power Off' from the options. Wait a few seconds to ensure it is fully powered down.
Remove the Back Cover and Battery
Use a plastic opening tool to gently pry off the back cover starting from a corner. Once removed, take out the battery by lifting it from the designated notch.
Remove SIM Card and MicroSD Card
Gently push the SIM card and microSD card out from their respective slots using your fingers or a pair of tweezers.
Remove Screws and Midframe
Using a Phillips #00 screwdriver, remove all screws from the back of the phone. Carefully pry around the edges with a plastic opening tool to separate the midframe from the front assembly.
Detach the Display Assembly
Use a heat gun or hair dryer to warm the edges of the front screen. This softens the adhesive. Carefully use a suction cup to lift the screen slightly, then use a spudger to separate the display assembly from the frame. Be gentle to avoid damaging the internals.
Disconnect the Display Cable
Once the display assembly is loosened, locate the display cable connector and use a spudger to gently disconnect it.
Install the New Screen
Connect the new screen's display cable to the motherboard connector. Align the new screen with the frame and press it down gently to adhere.
Reassemble the Phone
Reattach the midframe by snapping it back into place. Insert and secure all screws using the Phillips #00 screwdriver. Reinsert the SIM card, microSD card, and battery.
Test the New Screen
Before replacing the back cover, power on the device to ensure the new screen is functioning correctly. Check for touch responsiveness and display clarity.
Replace the Back Cover
Once functionality is confirmed, snap the back cover into place, ensuring all edges are sealed properly.
