Follow these 10 steps to complete your repair
Power Off the Device
Press and hold the power button to turn off your Galaxy S5 Mini completely. Wait until the screen goes dark before proceeding.
Remove Back Cover and Battery
Using your fingers, gently pry off the back cover. Once removed, take out the battery by lifting it from the bottom edge. Set both aside.
Heat the Screen Edges
Using a heat gun or hairdryer, apply heat around the edges of the screen to soften the adhesive. Move the heat source in a circular motion for about 2-3 minutes, ensuring even distribution.
Lift the Screen
Place a suction cup near the top edge of the screen and gently pull up to create a gap. Insert a plastic opening tool into the gap and work your way around the edges to loosen the adhesive. Be careful not to damage the internal components.
Disconnect the Display Cable
Using a spudger, carefully disconnect the display cable by prying up the connector. This cable is located on the top-right side inside the phone.
Remove the Old Screen
Once the adhesive is fully loosened, carefully lift off the old screen. Be cautious of any leftover adhesive or glass shards.
Install the New Screen
Align the new screen with the device and reconnect the display cable. Ensure the cable clicks securely in place.
Secure the New Screen
Apply adhesive strips or double-sided tape onto the edges of the frame to secure the new screen. Firmly press the screen into place to ensure it adheres properly.
Reassemble the Device
Place the battery back into its compartment and reattach the back cover. Ensure everything clicks firmly into place.
Test the New Screen
Power on the device to test the new screen. Check for proper functionality of the touch and display before concluding the repair.
