Follow these 10 steps to complete your repair
Power Off the Device
Press and hold the power button on your Galaxy S5 until the power off option appears. Tap it to turn off your device completely.
Remove the Back Cover and Battery
Using your fingers or a plastic opening tool, gently pry off the back cover of the phone. Once open, carefully remove the battery by lifting it from the bottom edge.
Remove SIM and MicroSD Cards
Use a fingernail or an opening tool to gently push the SIM and microSD cards out of their respective slots.
Heat the Screen
Using a heat gun or hair dryer, apply heat evenly around the edges of the screen for 1-2 minutes to soften the adhesive securing the screen.
Detach the Screen
Place a suction cup near the top edge of the screen and gently pull up to create a small gap. Insert a plastic opening tool or spudger into the gap and carefully work your way around the edges to detach the screen from the frame. Be gentle to avoid damaging internal components.
Disconnect the Screen
Once the screen is loose, carefully lift it just enough to access the display connector. Use a spudger to disconnect the screen's cable from the motherboard.
Install the New Screen
Connect the new screen's cable to the motherboard. Carefully align the new screen with the phone's frame and press gently to adhere. Ensure the screen is flush with the frame.
Secure the New Screen
Apply pre-cut adhesive strips around the edges of the frame. Press the screen firmly to ensure it is securely attached.
Reassemble the Device
Reinsert the SIM and microSD cards. Place the battery back into its compartment and snap the back cover onto the phone. Ensure all components are securely in place.
Power On and Test
Press the power button to turn the device back on. Test the new screen by checking touch functionality and display clarity.
