Follow these 9 steps to complete your repair
Power Off and Remove SIM Card
Before beginning the repair, ensure your phone is completely powered off. Use a SIM eject tool or a paperclip to remove the SIM card tray from the side of the device.
Heat the Back Cover
Use a heat gun or hair dryer to gently heat the edges of the back cover. Move the heat source in a circular motion to soften the adhesive without overheating the device.
Remove the Back Cover
Place a suction cup near the edge of the back cover and pull gently to create a gap. Insert a plastic opening tool into the gap and carefully slide it around the edges to release the adhesive. Lift the back cover off slowly, taking care not to damage the fingerprint sensor cable, if present.
Disconnect the Battery
Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the midframe. Carefully lift the midframe and disconnect the battery connector using a spudger. This step is crucial to ensure your safety and protect the device's circuitry.
Remove the Old Screen
Apply gentle heat to the edges of the screen to soften the adhesive. Use a suction cup and plastic opening tools to carefully separate the screen from the frame. Be cautious of the delicate cables and components beneath the screen.
Install the New Screen
Align the new screen with the frame, ensuring all connectors are properly positioned. Press down gently to secure it in place. Use adhesive strips or double-sided tape to adhere the new screen to the frame.
Reconnect Battery and Reassemble
Reconnect the battery connector and position the midframe back into place. Secure it with screws using the Phillips #00 screwdriver. Ensure all components are aligned correctly before proceeding.
Reattach the Back Cover
Carefully align the back cover with the device and press down firmly to reattach it. Apply gentle heat if necessary to reactivate the adhesive for a secure fit.
Power On and Test
Insert the SIM card tray back into the device, then power it on. Test the new screen functionality to ensure everything is working correctly, including touch sensitivity and display clarity.
