Follow these 7 steps to complete your repair
Power Off the Device
Press and hold the power button, then tap 'Power off' to turn off your Galaxy Fold 4G completely. Wait until the device is fully powered down before proceeding.
Remove the Back Cover
Use an iOpener or heat gun to gently apply heat around the edges of the back cover to soften the adhesive. Use a suction cup to lift the back cover slightly, then insert a plastic opening tool to carefully pry it off. Work your way around the edges until the cover is completely removed.
Disconnect the Battery
Using a Phillips #00 screwdriver, remove the screws securing the battery connector cover. Use a spudger to gently disconnect the battery connector from the motherboard. This step is crucial to prevent any electrical damage during the repair.
Remove the Old Screen
Apply heat around the edges of the screen to loosen the adhesive. Carefully use a suction cup to lift the screen slightly, and insert a plastic opening tool to begin separating the screen from the frame. Be cautious of the delicate cables attached to the screen. Disconnect any cables using tweezers and remove the screen completely.
Install the New Screen
Before installing the new screen, clean the frame and remove any old adhesive using a microfiber cloth and isopropyl alcohol. Place the new adhesive strips around the frame. Carefully align the new screen and connect the necessary cables. Press the screen into place, ensuring it is securely attached.
Reconnect the Battery
Reconnect the battery connector to the motherboard using the spudger. Replace and secure the battery connector cover with the screws removed earlier.
Reattach the Back Cover
Apply new adhesive strips to the edges of the back cover. Carefully place the back cover back onto the device, ensuring it aligns properly. Press down firmly around the edges to secure it in place.
