Follow these 8 steps to complete your repair
Prepare the Workspace
Ensure you are working on a clean, flat surface. Assemble all the tools and materials required for the repair. Wear an anti-static wrist strap to prevent any static discharge that could damage internal components.
Power Off and Heat the Edges
Power off the Samsung Galaxy Fold 5G completely. Use a heat gun or hairdryer to gently heat the edges of the screen for about 2-3 minutes. This will soften the adhesive securing the screen to the device.
Remove the Front Screen
Use a suction cup to lift a corner of the screen slightly, then insert a plastic opening tool. Carefully slide the tool around the edges to loosen the adhesive and gently lift the screen away from the device. Be cautious not to damage any cables underneath.
Disconnect the Screen Connectors
Carefully open the device to access the internal components. Use the Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove any screws securing the metal shield covering the screen connectors. Use tweezers to gently disconnect the screen connectors from the motherboard.
Remove the Damaged Screen
Once all connectors are detached, carefully lift the damaged screen away from the device. If any adhesive remains, use adhesive remover to clean the surface.
Install the New Screen
Align the new screen with the device. Begin by connecting the new screen's connectors to the motherboard. Secure them with the screws and metal shield previously removed.
Secure the Screen with Adhesive
Apply the pre-cut adhesive strips to the edges of the new screen. Carefully align and press the screen onto the device to ensure a secure fit. Use a microfiber cloth to remove any fingerprints.
Test the New Screen
Power on the device to test the functionality of the new screen. Ensure that the touch functionality works and that there are no dead pixels or discoloration.
