Follow these 7 steps to complete your repair
Power Off the Device
Hold the power button and select 'Power Off' on the screen to safely turn off your device. This prevents electrical hazards during the repair process.
Remove the Back Cover
Use a heat gun or hairdryer to gently heat the edges of the back cover. This softens the adhesive, making it easier to remove. Carefully use a suction cup and a plastic opening tool to lift the back cover. Work slowly to avoid cracking the glass.
Disconnect the Battery
Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the battery connector cover. Carefully lift the cover and disconnect the battery connector using a spudger. This step is crucial to prevent short circuits.
Remove the Inner Screen Assembly
Use the Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove screws securing the internal components and connectors. Gently use tweezers to disconnect the screen assembly cables. Take care to remember the placement of each connector.
Install the New Screen
Carefully position the new screen, ensuring it aligns with the device's connectors. Reconnect all the screen assembly cables and secure them with screws. Ensure the connections are firm and secure.
Reassemble the Device
Reconnect the battery and replace the battery connector cover. Secure it with screws. Heat the edges of the back cover and reapply adhesive strips if needed. Press the back cover firmly into place.
Test the New Screen
Power on the device and test the functionality of the new screen. Ensure the display is responsive and that all features, such as touch and fold, are working correctly.
