Power Off the Device
Press and hold the power button until the power menu appears. Tap 'Power Off' and wait for the device to completely shut down before proceeding.
Remove the Back Cover
Apply heat around the edges of the back cover using a heat gun or hairdryer to soften the adhesive. Use a suction cup to gently lift the cover, and insert a plastic opening tool to carefully pry it open. Work your way around the edges to release the cover.
Disconnect the Battery
Remove the screws securing the battery connector cover with a Phillips #00 screwdriver. Use a plastic spudger to gently disconnect the battery connector from the motherboard to prevent any electrical damage.
Remove the Old Screen
Carefully apply heat to the edges of the screen to soften the adhesive. Use a suction cup to lift the screen slightly and insert a plastic opening tool to gently separate the screen from the device. Be cautious of the flex cables connecting the screen to the motherboard.
Install the New Screen
Position the new screen and connect the flex cables to the motherboard. Ensure they are seated properly. Peel off any protective films from the adhesive strips on the new screen and gently press the screen into place. Apply even pressure to secure the adhesive.
Reconnect the Battery
Reconnect the battery connector to the motherboard and secure it with the previously removed screws. Ensure the connection is secure to prevent power issues.
Reattach the Back Cover
Apply new adhesive strips around the edges of the back cover if necessary. Align the cover and press it firmly into place. Apply heat if needed to ensure the adhesive bonds properly.
Test the New Screen
Power on the device and test the new screen for functionality. Check for touch responsiveness and display clarity. Ensure that the device folds and unfolds without any issues.
