Follow these 9 steps to complete your repair
Power Off the Device
Press and hold the power button and select 'Power Off' from the menu. Wait for the device to completely shut down before proceeding.
Remove the Back Cover
Use a heat gun or hairdryer to apply heat around the edges of the back cover to loosen the adhesive. Use a suction cup to lift the back cover gently. Insert a plastic opening tool to pry it open and carefully detach it from the device.
Disconnect the Battery
Locate the battery connector on the motherboard. Use a spudger to carefully lift and disconnect the battery connector. This step is crucial for safety to avoid any electrical short during the repair.
Remove the Old Screen
Apply heat around the screen edges to loosen the adhesive. Use a suction cup to gently lift the screen. Insert a prying pick to carefully separate the screen from the device frame, taking care not to damage the internal components.
Clean the Surface
Use a microfiber cloth and isopropyl alcohol to clean any residue left by the old adhesive. Ensure the surface is clean and dry before installing the new screen.
Install the Replacement Screen
Align the new screen with the device frame. Use double-sided adhesive strips to secure the screen in place. Press firmly around the edges to ensure a proper seal.
Reconnect the Battery
Carefully reconnect the battery connector to the motherboard using tweezers or a spudger. Ensure it is securely attached.
Reattach the Back Cover
Apply new adhesive to the edges of the back cover. Align it with the device and press down firmly to secure it. Use heat if necessary to strengthen the adhesive bond.
Power On and Test the Device
Turn on the device and test the new screen for functionality. Check for proper touch response and display clarity to ensure the repair was successful.
