Follow these 8 steps to complete your repair
Power Off the Device
Ensure your Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 5G is completely powered off. To do this, press and hold the power button and tap 'Power off' on the screen. Wait until the device is fully shut down before proceeding.
Heat the Display Edges
Use a heat gun or hairdryer on a low setting to gently heat the edges of the display. This helps soften the adhesive holding the screen in place. Move the heat source evenly around the edges for about 2-3 minutes to avoid overheating any single area.
Use the Suction Cup and Opening Tool
Place a suction cup near the edge of the screen and gently pull up to create a small gap. Insert a plastic opening tool into the gap and carefully slide it around the edges to loosen the adhesive. Be patient and do not force the screen to avoid damage.
Disconnect the Battery
Using a Phillips #00 screwdriver, remove the screws securing the back cover. Carefully lift the cover and locate the battery connector. Use a spudger to gently disconnect the battery connector, ensuring no power is flowing to the device.
Remove the Old Screen
Carefully detach the screen from the frame using tweezers and a screen removal tool. Pay close attention to the screen's connectors and ensure they are safely disconnected. Remove any remaining adhesive from the frame using isopropyl alcohol and a microfiber cloth.
Install the New Screen
Align the new screen with the frame and connect the necessary connectors. Ensure the screen is properly seated before securing it with new adhesive strips. Apply gentle pressure to ensure the adhesive bonds well.
Reassemble the Device
Reconnect the battery connector and carefully replace the back cover. Secure it with the screws you removed earlier using the Phillips #00 screwdriver. Double-check all connections and ensure the back cover is properly aligned and secured.
Test the New Screen
Power on the device and test the new screen functionality. Ensure touch sensitivity, color display, and folding mechanism work correctly. If everything functions as expected, your screen replacement was successful.
