Follow these 9 steps to complete your repair
Power Off and Remove SIM Card
Ensure your phone is powered off completely. Use the SIM card ejection tool to remove the SIM card tray from the device.
Apply Heat to Soften Adhesive
Use a heat gun or hair dryer to apply heat evenly around the edges of the phone's front and back covers. This will soften the adhesive, making it easier to remove the covers without damaging them. Be careful not to overheat any area.
Remove the Back Cover
Use a suction cup to gently lift the back cover. Insert a plastic opening tool between the back cover and the frame of the phone. Carefully work your way around the edges to release the adhesive. Set the back cover aside once removed.
Disconnect the Battery
Locate the battery connector and use a nylon spudger to gently pry it off from the motherboard. This step is crucial to ensure no power runs through the device during repair, reducing the risk of short-circuiting.
Remove the Front Cover
Repeat the heating process on the front cover. Use the suction cup and plastic tools to lift and remove the front cover, exposing the internal components. Be cautious of the delicate display cables underneath.
Detach the Display Cable
Use tweezers to carefully disconnect the display cable from the motherboard. This cable is fragile, so handle it with care to avoid tearing.
Install the New Screen
Take the replacement screen and align it with the phone’s frame. Reconnect the display cable to the motherboard. Ensure the connection is secure but do not force it.
Reassemble the Device
Carefully reattach the front and back covers using new adhesive strips. Ensure that all components are aligned properly. Reconnect the battery to the motherboard.
Test the New Screen
Power on the device and test the new screen to ensure it is responsive and functioning correctly. Check for any display issues or unresponsive areas.
