Power Off the Device
Press and hold the power button, then tap 'Power Off' to shut down the device completely. Wait for a few seconds to ensure it's fully powered down.
Remove the Back Cover
Use a heat gun or hairdryer to gently heat the edges of the back cover. This will soften the adhesive. Use a suction cup and plastic opening tool to carefully lift and remove the back cover, starting from one corner and working your way around.
Disconnect the Battery
Using a Phillips #00 screwdriver, remove the screws securing the battery connector cover. Use a spudger to disconnect the battery connector from the motherboard to prevent any electrical shorts.
Detach the Foldable Screen
Carefully remove the screws securing the screen connector cover. Use a spudger to gently pry the screen connectors from the motherboard. Note the position of each connector for reassembly.
Remove the Broken Screen
Use the heat gun to warm the edges of the screen. Carefully insert the plastic opening tool between the frame and the screen to loosen the adhesive. Slowly and gently lift the screen away from the device.
Install the New Screen
Align the new screen with the device frame. Carefully reconnect the screen connectors to the motherboard using the spudger. Ensure that each connector is seated properly.
Reassemble the Device
Reconnect the battery connector to the motherboard. Replace any covers and secure them with screws using the Phillips #00 screwdriver. Carefully align and press the back cover onto the device, ensuring the adhesive seals properly.
Power On and Test
Power on the device by pressing the power button. Test the new screen by checking all areas of touch sensitivity and display clarity. Ensure the fold mechanism works smoothly.
