Power Off the Device
Press and hold the power button until the power menu appears. Select 'Power Off' and confirm to completely shut down your Galaxy Z Fold 6 5G.
Remove the Back Cover
Use a heat gun or hairdryer to gently warm the edges of the back cover to soften the adhesive. Carefully use a suction cup to create a gap and insert a plastic opening tool to pry off the back cover. Work slowly to avoid cracking the glass.
Disconnect the Battery
Using a Phillips #00 screwdriver, remove the screws securing the battery connector cover. Use a spudger to carefully disconnect the battery connector to prevent any electrical shorts during the repair.
Remove the Old Screen
Heat the edges of the screen using the heat gun or hairdryer. Carefully insert a plastic opening tool between the screen and the frame. Gently pry up the screen, being cautious of the flexible display cable. Use tweezers to disconnect the display cable from the motherboard.
Clean the Frame
Use isopropyl alcohol and a microfiber cloth to clean any adhesive residue from the frame. This ensures a clean surface for the new screen.
Install the New Screen
Carefully connect the new screen's display cable to the motherboard. Align the new screen with the device, ensuring it sits flush against the frame. Secure it with adhesive strips, pressing gently to ensure a good bond.
Reconnect the Battery
Reconnect the battery connector and secure the battery connector cover with screws using the Phillips #00 screwdriver.
Reattach the Back Cover
Align the back cover with the device and press firmly around the edges to adhere it back in place. Use the heat gun or hairdryer if necessary to help the adhesive bond.
Test the New Screen
Power on the device and test the new screen for functionality. Check for touch responsiveness and display clarity to ensure the repair was successful.
