Follow these 9 steps to complete your repair
Power Down and Remove SIM Card
Ensure your Kindle Fire HD 10 is completely powered off. If applicable, remove the SIM card using a SIM eject tool to prevent any potential damage during the repair.
Heat the Edges of the Screen
Using a hairdryer or heat gun, gently heat the edges of the screen to soften the adhesive. Make sure to keep the heat source moving to avoid damaging the screen or internal components. Heat each side for about 1-2 minutes.
Separate the Screen
Use a suction handle to gently lift the screen from one edge. Insert a plastic opening tool into the gap to carefully pry the screen away from the body. Work slowly around the perimeter of the device, using the spudger as needed to release the adhesive.
Disconnect the Screen Cable
Locate the screen cable connector on the motherboard. Use the spudger to carefully lift and disconnect the cable. Take care not to damage the connector pins.
Remove the Old Screen
Once the screen cable is disconnected, gently lift the screen away from the device. Be mindful of any remaining adhesive or glass shards.
Clean the Frame
Use isopropyl alcohol and a lint-free cloth or a small brush to clean any leftover adhesive residue from the frame. Ensure the surface is clean and dry before proceeding.
Install the New Screen
Align the new screen with the device. Connect the screen cable to the motherboard by gently pressing the connector into place. Ensure a secure connection.
Secure the Screen
Apply new adhesive strips or double-sided tape to the edges of the frame. Carefully place the new screen onto the device, ensuring alignment. Press firmly around the edges to secure the screen.
Reassemble and Test
Reinsert the SIM card if applicable. Power on your device to test the new screen for responsiveness and functionality. Ensure everything is working correctly before finalizing the repair.
