Follow these 10 steps to complete your repair
Power Off the Device
Press and hold the power button on your Kindle Fire HD 7 until the power options appear. Tap 'Power Off' to shut down the device completely.
Remove the Back Cover
Using a plastic opening tool, gently pry around the edges of the back cover to release the clips. Carefully remove the cover and set it aside.
Detach the Battery Connector
Locate the battery connector on the motherboard. Use a spudger to gently pry the battery connector from its socket to prevent any power from flowing through the device.
Heat the Screen Edges
Using a heat gun or hair dryer, apply heat evenly around the edges of the screen to soften the adhesive. Be careful not to overheat or damage the device.
Remove the Broken Screen
Place a suction cup near the edge of the screen and gently lift to create a gap. Insert a plastic opening tool into the gap and slide it around the edges to separate the screen from the frame. Carefully lift off the screen, being mindful of the ribbon cable connecting it to the motherboard.
Disconnect the Screen Cable
Use tweezers to carefully release the latch securing the ribbon cable. Gently pull the cable out to fully detach the broken screen.
Install the New Screen
Connect the ribbon cable of the new screen to the motherboard and secure the latch. Align the screen with the frame and press down gently to ensure the adhesive holds it in place. If needed, apply new adhesive strips around the edges.
Reconnect the Battery
Reattach the battery connector to the motherboard by pressing it back into its socket.
Reattach the Back Cover
Align the back cover with the device and press down around the edges to snap it back into place, ensuring all clips are securely fastened.
Power On and Test
Press the power button to turn on your Kindle Fire HD 7. Test the new screen to ensure touch functionality and display are working correctly.
