Follow these 9 steps to complete your repair
Power Off the Device
Ensure your Kindle Fire HD 8 is completely powered off to prevent any electrical accidents during the repair process. Hold the power button until the power off option appears and select it.
Remove the Back Cover
Using a plastic opening tool, carefully pry along the seams of the back cover. Work your way around the edges until the cover can be lifted off. Be gentle to avoid damaging the plastic clips.
Disconnect the Battery
Using a spudger, gently disconnect the battery connector from the motherboard to ensure no power is flowing through the device while you work.
Heat the Edges of the Screen
Use a heat gun or hairdryer to gently heat the edges of the screen. This will loosen the adhesive holding the screen in place. Do not overheat as this may damage internal components.
Remove the Broken Screen
Place a suction cup on the screen and gently lift while using a plastic opening tool to carefully separate the screen from the body. Be cautious of any sharp glass edges. If necessary, reheat to further loosen the adhesive.
Install the New Screen
Place the new screen in position, ensuring all connectors align properly. Use double-sided adhesive tape to secure the new screen. Press down firmly around the edges to ensure strong adhesion.
Reconnect the Battery
Reconnect the battery connector to the motherboard using the spudger. Ensure it is firmly connected to allow the device to power on.
Replace the Back Cover
Align the back cover with the device and press down around the edges until it snaps back into place securely.
Test the New Screen
Power on the device to test the new screen. Ensure the display is functioning correctly and that the touch responsiveness is restored.
