Follow these 9 steps to complete your repair
Power Off the Device
Press and hold the power button on your Kindle Fire HD 8 until the power off option appears. Confirm to turn off the device completely. Ensure it is unplugged from any charging cable.
Heat the Edges
Use a heat gun or hair dryer to gently heat the edges of the screen. This will soften the adhesive holding the screen in place. Move the heat source in a circular motion to avoid overheating any one area. Do this for about 2-3 minutes.
Pry Open the Screen
Using a plastic opening tool, gently insert it between the screen and the frame of the device. Carefully work your way around the perimeter to loosen the adhesive. Use a suction cup to lift the screen slightly and create a gap for the opening tool.
Disconnect the Screen
Once the screen is loose, carefully lift it to reveal the display connector. Use a spudger to gently disconnect the screen from the motherboard by lifting the connector's latch and sliding the ribbon cable out.
Remove the Broken Screen
Completely remove the broken screen from the device and set it aside. Ensure no glass shards remain on the device frame.
Install the New Screen
Carefully align the new screen with the device. Connect the ribbon cable to the motherboard and lock the connector in place. Ensure the connection is secure.
Secure the New Screen
Apply adhesive strips or double-sided tape around the frame. Gently press the new screen into place, ensuring it adheres firmly and is aligned correctly with the frame.
Power On and Test
Power on your Kindle Fire HD 8 to ensure the new screen is responsive and functioning properly. Check for any display issues or touch sensitivity problems.
Finalize the Repair
After confirming the screen is working, clean the screen with a microfiber cloth to remove any fingerprints or smudges. Reassemble any remaining parts securely.
