Follow these 10 steps to complete your repair
Power Off and Prepare the Device
Begin by powering off your Kindle Fire HD 8 Plus completely. Hold down the power button until the power off option appears, then select it. Once off, remove any external accessories and place the device on a soft, static-free work surface.
Remove the Back Cover
Using a plastic opening tool, carefully insert it between the back cover and the frame of the Kindle. Gently work your way around the edges to unclip the cover. Take your time to avoid breaking the clips.
Disconnect the Battery
Locate the battery connector on the motherboard. Using a spudger, gently pry up the battery connector to disconnect it. This is crucial to prevent any electrical issues during the repair.
Apply Heat to Loosen the Screen Adhesive
Use a hairdryer or heat gun to apply heat evenly around the edges of the screen. This will soften the adhesive holding the screen in place. Be cautious not to overheat any part to avoid damage.
Remove the Broken Screen
Once the adhesive is softened, use a suction cup to lift the screen gently away from the body. Start at a corner and use a plastic opening tool to separate the screen from the device. Be careful of any cables connected to the screen.
Disconnect the Screen Cables
Locate and gently disconnect the cables that link the screen to the motherboard using tweezers or a spudger. Take note of their positions for reinstallation.
Install the New Screen
Connect the new screen's cables to the motherboard, ensuring they are securely fastened. Align the new screen with the device frame and press it gently into place.
Secure the New Screen
Apply the adhesive strips or double-sided tape around the edges of the new screen. Press down firmly to ensure the screen is securely attached to the body of the device.
Reconnect the Battery and Reassemble the Device
Reconnect the battery connector to the motherboard. Carefully snap the back cover into place by aligning it with the device and pressing around the edges. Ensure all clips are engaged.
Test the New Screen
Power on the Kindle Fire HD 8 Plus to test the new screen. Ensure that the display works correctly and that the touch functionality is responsive. If everything is functioning well, your repair is complete.
