Follow these 8 steps to complete your repair
Power Off the Device
Press and hold the power button until the 'slide to power off' option appears. Slide to power off the device completely before proceeding with any disassembly.
Heat and Remove the Screen
Use a heat gun or hair dryer around the edges of the iPad's screen to soften the adhesive. Place the suction cup near the edge of the screen and gently lift while using plastic opening tools to pry the screen away from the frame. Work slowly to avoid cracking the screen further.
Disconnect Screen from Device
Once the screen is lifted, carefully disconnect the digitizer and LCD connectors using a spudger or tweezers. Ensure all connectors are fully detached before removing the screen completely.
Clean the Frame
Use a microfiber cloth to clean the frame of any remaining adhesive and debris. This ensures a proper fit for the new screen.
Install New Screen
Position the new screen and carefully connect the digitizer and LCD cables. Ensure they are securely attached. Test the screen to ensure it functions correctly before sealing the device.
Secure the Screen with Adhesive
Apply the adhesive strips around the edges of the iPad's frame. Carefully align and press the new screen into place, ensuring it is securely adhered.
Final Assembly and Testing
Power on the iPad to test the new screen's functionality. Ensure all touch functions and display features work correctly. If everything is operational, press down gently on the edges to secure the adhesive.
Clean and Finish
Use a microfiber cloth to clean any fingerprints or smudges from the new screen. Your iPad 2 should now be fully functional with a new screen.
