Follow these 10 steps to complete your repair
Power Off the Device
Begin by powering off the iPad completely. Hold the power button and slide to power off.
Heat the Edges
Use an iOpener or heat gun to gently heat the edges of the iPad. This softens the adhesive securing the screen. Be careful not to overheat, as excessive heat can damage internal components.
Pry Open the Screen
Use a suction cup to lift the screen slightly. Insert a plastic opening tool into the gap and gently work around the edges to separate the screen from the body. Take care not to insert the tool too deeply to avoid damaging internal components.
Disconnect the Battery
With the screen lifted, use a spudger to disconnect the battery by prying up the battery connector. This ensures safety while handling the internal components.
Remove the Screws
Using a Phillips #00 screwdriver, remove the screws securing the display connector bracket. Carefully set the screws aside for reassembly.
Disconnect the Display Cables
Gently lift the bracket and disconnect the display cables using a spudger. This will free the screen from the main body of the iPad.
Install the New Screen
Position the new screen and connect the display cables. Reattach the display connector bracket and secure it with screws.
Reconnect the Battery
Carefully reconnect the battery connector using a spudger, ensuring a secure connection.
Seal the Edges
Apply new adhesive strips around the edges of the iPad. Carefully align and press the new screen into place, ensuring a tight seal.
Test the New Screen
Power on the iPad and test the new screen to ensure all functions are operating correctly, including touch response and display clarity.
