Follow these 9 steps to complete your repair
Power Off the iPad and Remove SIM Card
Press and hold the power button until the 'slide to power off' slider appears. Slide it to turn off the iPad completely. Use a SIM eject tool to remove the SIM card and tray from the iPad.
Heat the Edges of the Screen
Use an iOpener or heat gun to apply heat around the edges of the iPad. This softens the adhesive holding the screen. Be cautious not to overheat the device. Heat for about 1-2 minutes.
Separate the Screen from the Frame
Place a suction cup near the edge of the screen and gently pull up to create a small gap. Insert a plastic opening tool into the gap and work your way around the edges to separate the screen from the frame. Be gentle to avoid cracking the glass further.
Disconnect the Digitizer and LCD Cables
Once the screen is loose, carefully open it like a book. Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the metal shield covering the connectors. Use tweezers to gently disconnect the digitizer and LCD cables.
Remove the Old Screen
With the cables disconnected, lift the old screen away from the iPad. Be cautious of any adhesive remnants and glass shards.
Install the New Screen
Align the new screen's digitizer and LCD cables with the connectors on the iPad. Carefully connect the cables and secure them with the metal shield and screws.
Secure the Screen with Adhesive
Apply new adhesive strips around the frame of the iPad. Carefully align and press the new screen onto the frame, ensuring it is secure and flush.
Power On and Test the iPad
Reinsert the SIM card and tray. Power on the iPad by holding the power button. Test the touch functionality and display to ensure the replacement was successful.
Clean and Finalize
Use a microfiber cloth to clean the screen. Ensure that there are no adhesive residues or fingerprints.
