Follow these 10 steps to complete your repair
Power Down and Remove SIM Card
Ensure the iPad is completely powered off by holding down the power button and sliding to power off. Use the SIM eject tool to remove the SIM card and tray from the iPad.
Heat the Edges of the Screen
Use an iOpener or a heat gun to gently heat the edges of the iPad screen, especially around the adhesive, for about 1-2 minutes. This will soften the adhesive, making it easier to pry open.
Pry Open the Screen
Carefully use a suction cup near the edge of the screen to lift it slightly. Insert a plastic opening tool into the gap and gently work your way around the edges to loosen the adhesive. Avoid inserting tools too deeply to prevent damage to internal components.
Disconnect Battery Connector
After opening the screen, locate and remove the screws securing the metal bracket covering the battery connector using a Phillips #00 screwdriver. Carefully disconnect the battery connector to prevent any power flow during the repair.
Disconnect Display and Digitizer Connectors
Unscrew and remove the metal bracket covering the display and digitizer connectors. Use a spudger to carefully disconnect these connectors. Handle the cables gently to avoid tearing.
Remove the Old Screen
With all connectors detached, carefully remove the old screen from the iPad. Use tweezers to peel off any remaining adhesive residue from the frame.
Install the New Screen
Align the new screen with the iPad frame and connect the digitizer and display connectors. Secure the metal bracket over these connectors with the screws removed earlier.
Reconnect the Battery
Reconnect the battery connector and secure it with the metal bracket and screws. Ensure all connectors are firmly attached.
Seal the New Screen
Carefully apply the adhesive strips around the edges of the iPad's frame. Align the new screen over the frame and press firmly to secure it in place. Ensure the screen is flush with the frame.
Test the New Screen
Power on the iPad and test the new screen for functionality, checking for responsiveness and display quality. Reinsert the SIM card tray. If everything works correctly, your repair is complete.
