Follow these 8 steps to complete your repair
Power Off the Device
Press and hold the power button until the 'slide to power off' option appears. Slide to power off and ensure the device is completely turned off before proceeding.
Remove the Display
Use a heat gun or iOpener to soften the adhesive around the edges of the iPad screen. Carefully apply heat to the edges for about 1-2 minutes. Use a suction cup to gently lift the screen and insert a plastic opening tool to pry around the edges, loosening the adhesive. Avoid applying excessive force to prevent damaging the internal components.
Detach the Display Connectors
Once the screen is loosened, carefully lift it from the iPad. Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the display cable bracket. Use tweezers to lift the bracket and disconnect the display connectors using a plastic spudger. Set the old screen aside.
Prepare the New Screen
Remove any protective coverings from the new screen. Use a microfiber cloth to clean the screen and remove any dust or fingerprints. Ensure that the new screen is free of debris before installation.
Connect the New Screen
Align the new screen's connectors with the iPad's connectors. Use a plastic spudger to carefully attach the connectors, ensuring they are securely in place. Reattach the display cable bracket and secure it with the screws using the Phillips #00 screwdriver.
Adhere the New Screen
Apply adhesive strips or double-sided adhesive tape along the edges of the iPad frame. Carefully align the new screen and press it firmly onto the adhesive. Ensure that the screen is securely attached with no gaps.
Test the New Screen
Power on the device by pressing the power button. Test the touchscreen functionality and check for any display issues. Ensure that the new screen is responsive and displays correctly.
Final Check and Clean Up
Perform a final inspection to ensure all components are securely fastened and there are no loose parts. Clean the screen with a microfiber cloth to remove any smudges or fingerprints. Dispose of any old parts and tools properly.
