Follow these 8 steps to complete your repair
Power Off and Prepare
Begin by powering off your iPad completely. Once off, place the device on a clean, flat surface. Attach an anti-static wrist strap to avoid static discharge, which can harm electronic components.
Heat and Remove the Screen
Use an iOpener or a hairdryer to gently heat the edges of the iPad's screen for about 1-2 minutes to soften the adhesive. Use a suction cup to lift the screen slightly and insert a plastic opening tool to carefully separate the adhesive around the edges. Take care not to insert the tool too far to avoid damaging internal cables.
Disconnect the Battery
After lifting the screen slightly, use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the battery connector cover. Use a spudger to disconnect the battery to prevent any electrical issues during the repair.
Remove the Display Assembly
Carefully disconnect the display cables using tweezers and the spudger. Be gentle to avoid tearing the cables. Once disconnected, fully remove the display assembly from the iPad.
Install the New Screen
Take the replacement screen and carefully connect the display cables. Ensure the connections are secure. Gently align the new screen to the iPad frame but do not press down fully yet.
Reconnect and Test
Reconnect the battery connector and temporarily power on the iPad to test the new display. Ensure the touch functionality and display are working properly before sealing the device.
Seal the iPad
Power off the iPad again. Remove any remaining adhesive from the frame using isopropyl alcohol and a microfiber cloth. Apply the new adhesive strips around the frame. Carefully align and press the screen into place, ensuring a tight seal.
Final Checks
Power on the iPad once more to confirm the screen is properly installed and functioning. Check for any gaps or misalignment. If everything is in order, your iPad 7 screen replacement is complete.
