Follow these 10 steps to complete your repair
Power Off the Device
Press and hold the power button until the 'slide to power off' option appears. Slide to power off the device completely to ensure a safe repair process.
Heat the Edges
Using an iOpener or heat gun, gently heat the edges of the iPad to loosen the adhesive. Apply heat evenly for about 2-3 minutes, being careful not to overheat the device.
Open the iPad
Attach the suction handle near the edge of the screen. Gently pull up to create a small gap. Insert a plastic opening tool into the gap and slide it around the edges to separate the adhesive. Be patient and avoid rushing to prevent cracking the screen further.
Disconnect the Battery
Locate the battery connector cover and remove it using a Phillips screwdriver. Use a spudger to gently disconnect the battery to prevent any electrical shorts during the repair.
Remove the Old Screen
Remove the screws securing the LCD. Carefully lift the LCD, being mindful of the attached cables. Disconnect the display flex cables using a spudger or tweezers.
Install the New Screen
Connect the replacement screen's flex cables to the motherboard. Secure the LCD with screws. Ensure all cables are connected properly before proceeding.
Seal the iPad
Clean the edges of the iPad with isopropyl alcohol and a microfiber cloth to remove old adhesive residue. Apply new adhesive strips to the edges. Carefully align and press the new screen into place.
Reconnect the Battery and Close
Reconnect the battery connector and replace the cover. Ensure all components are secured. Press the screen firmly to ensure the adhesive bonds properly.
Test the New Screen
Power on the iPad to check the functionality of the new screen. Verify touch sensitivity and display quality to ensure the repair was successful.
Dispose of Old Parts
Dispose of the old screen and any broken glass safely. Recycle electronic waste according to local regulations.
