Follow these 10 steps to complete your repair
Power Off the Device
Press and hold the power button until the 'slide to power off' option appears. Slide to power off the iPad Mini before starting the repair to ensure safety.
Heat the Edges
Use an iOpener or a hairdryer to evenly heat the edges of the iPad Mini. This will soften the adhesive holding the screen in place. Carefully heat for about 1-2 minutes, making sure not to overheat the device.
Lift the Screen
Apply a suction cup near the edge of the screen. Gently pull up to create a small gap. Insert a plastic opening tool into the gap and carefully work around the edges to loosen the adhesive. Be patient and avoid applying too much force.
Detach the Screen Assembly
Once the screen is loosened, carefully lift it from the frame. Use a spudger to disconnect the digitizer and LCD connectors from the logic board. Take note of connector positions for reassembly.
Remove the Old Screen
Fully detach the old screen by removing any remaining adhesive and connections. Set the old screen aside, ensuring no glass shards remain on the device.
Install the New Screen
Align the new screen with the device. Reconnect the digitizer and LCD connectors to the logic board. Ensure a snug fit to avoid display issues.
Secure the New Screen
Apply new adhesive strips around the edges of the screen frame. Carefully press down the new screen, ensuring the adhesive bonds properly.
Reassemble the iPad
Carefully ensure all connections are secure. Reassemble any parts removed during disassembly, such as screws and covers.
Test the Device
Power on the iPad Mini and test the new screen for functionality. Check for touch responsiveness and display clarity.
Final Check
Ensure all components are secure, and the screen is properly sealed. Clean the screen with a microfiber cloth and remove any remaining smudges or fingerprints.
