Follow these 9 steps to complete your repair
Prepare Your Workspace
Ensure you have a clean, well-lit workspace. Organize your tools and materials, and place your iPad Mini 7 on a soft, static-free surface to prevent scratches.
Power Off and Remove Pentalobe Screws
Power off your iPad Mini 7 completely. Using a Pentalobe screwdriver (P2), remove the two screws located near the charging port on the bottom edge of the device.
Heat the Adhesive
Use an iOpener or heat gun to gently heat the edges of the screen. This will soften the adhesive, making it easier to remove the screen without causing damage.
Lift the Screen
Place a suction cup near the edge of the screen. Gently pull up on the suction cup to create a small gap. Insert a plastic opening tool into the gap and carefully work your way around the perimeter to loosen the adhesive.
Disconnect the Battery
Once the screen is loose, carefully open it like a book, being mindful of the display cables. Use a Phillips screwdriver (PH00) to remove the screws securing the metal shield over the battery connector. Use a spudger to disconnect the battery connector.
Remove the Old Screen
Detach the display cables connecting the screen to the logic board using a spudger. Gently remove the screen from the device.
Install the New Screen
Align the replacement screen with the device. Connect the new display cables to the logic board. Ensure all connections are secure.
Reassemble the Device
Reconnect the battery connector and secure the metal shield with screws. Carefully align and press the new screen into place. Apply adhesive strips if needed to secure the screen.
Test the Device
Power on the iPad Mini 7 to ensure the new screen functions correctly. Check for responsiveness and display quality to confirm a successful installation.
