Follow these 10 steps to complete your repair
Power Off the Device
Press and hold the power button until the 'slide to power off' option appears. Slide it to turn off the iPad completely. Ensure the device is fully powered down before proceeding.
Heat the Edges of the Screen
Use an iOpener or heat gun to apply gentle heat around the edges of the screen. This softens the adhesive holding the screen in place. Do not overheat to avoid damaging the device.
Lift the Screen
Place a suction cup near the edge of the screen. Gently pull up to create a small gap. Insert a plastic opening tool into the gap and carefully work around the screen to loosen it. Be patient and avoid rushing to prevent damage.
Disconnect the Battery
Remove the screws securing the battery connector cover using a Phillips screwdriver. Carefully lift the cover and disconnect the battery connector to prevent electrical damage during the repair.
Disconnect the Screen Connectors
Locate the screen connectors and remove the screws holding the connector bracket in place. Use a spudger to gently disconnect the screen connectors from the logic board.
Remove the Damaged Screen
Once the connectors are detached, carefully lift and remove the damaged screen from the device. Set it aside safely away from your workspace.
Prepare and Attach the New Screen
Line up the new screen with the device. Reconnect the screen connectors to the logic board and replace the connector bracket. Ensure all connections are secure and properly aligned.
Secure the Screen
Apply new adhesive strips around the edges of the screen frame. Carefully place the new screen onto the device, pressing firmly to secure it in place. Ensure it is aligned correctly.
Reconnect the Battery
Reconnect the battery connector and replace the battery connector cover. Secure it with the screws previously removed.
Power On and Test
Turn on the device to ensure the new screen is functioning correctly. Test touch responsiveness and check for any display issues. Ensure everything is working before concluding the repair.
