Follow these 9 steps to complete your repair
Power Off and Prepare the iPad
Begin by powering off your iPad Pro 11 4th Gen completely. Disconnect any cables and remove the SIM card if applicable. Place the device on a clean, static-free surface to begin the repair process.
Heat the Screen to Loosen Adhesive
Use an iOpener or hairdryer to apply heat evenly around the edges of the iPad's screen. This will soften the adhesive securing the screen to the frame. Apply heat for approximately 2-3 minutes, ensuring not to overheat or damage the device.
Create a Gap Using a Suction Cup
Place a suction cup near the edge of the screen, then gently pull up to create a small gap. Insert a plastic opening pick into the gap to keep it open. Be careful not to insert the pick too deeply to avoid damaging internal components.
Separate the Screen from the Frame
Slide additional opening picks around the edges of the iPad to cut through the adhesive. Work slowly and carefully, reheating the edges if necessary. Once the screen is free, lift it gently and be mindful of the attached display cables.
Disconnect the Battery
Using a Phillips #00 screwdriver, remove the screws securing the battery connector cover. Use a spudger to gently disconnect the battery connector, ensuring the device is fully powered down.
Disconnect the Display Cables
Remove any screws securing the display connector bracket. Carefully disconnect the display cables using a spudger or tweezers. Note the position of each cable for reassembly.
Install the New Screen
Position the new screen in place and reconnect the display cables. Secure the cables with their respective screws and brackets. Use the adhesive strips to attach the new screen to the frame.
Reconnect the Battery and Test the Device
Reconnect the battery connector, secure the cover with screws, and power on the iPad. Test the touch functionality and display to ensure the new screen is working correctly.
Secure and Finalize the Repair
Once functionality is confirmed, press the screen firmly into place, ensuring the adhesive is properly set. Clean the screen with a microfiber cloth to remove fingerprints and residue.
