Follow these 10 steps to complete your repair
Power Off the Device
Start by completely powering off your Surface Pro 10. Hold the power button until the screen turns off, and then disconnect any attached accessories or power cables.
Heat the Screen Edges
Use a heat gun or hairdryer to gently heat the edges of the screen. This will soften the adhesive holding the screen in place. Move the heat source in a circular motion for about 2-3 minutes to avoid overheating any specific area.
Lift the Screen
Attach a suction cup to the corner of the screen. Carefully pull up on the suction cup while using a plastic opening tool to gently pry the screen away from the device's frame. Work slowly around the edges to avoid cracking the screen further.
Disconnect the Screen
Once the screen is lifted, locate the display connector. Use a T5 Torx screwdriver to remove any screws securing the connector cover. Carefully disconnect the display cable using tweezers.
Remove the Old Screen
With the display cable disconnected, fully remove the old screen from the device. Set it aside safely to avoid injury from broken glass.
Prepare the New Screen
Take the new screen out of its packaging. Ensure it is the correct model and free of any defects. Remove any protective films from the new screen.
Attach the New Screen
Connect the new screen's display cable to the device, ensuring the connection is secure. Replace the connector cover and screws using the T5 Torx screwdriver.
Secure the Screen
Apply the adhesive strips or double-sided adhesive tape around the edges of the device frame. Carefully align and press the new screen into place. Ensure the screen is flush with the frame.
Test the New Screen
Power on the device and check the functionality of the new screen. Ensure the display is clear and the touch response is accurate.
Final Assembly
Reattach any accessories or power cables. Double-check that all components are secure and that the screen is functioning properly.
