Follow these 7 steps to complete your repair
Prepare the Work Area
Find a clean, flat, and well-lit workspace. Gather all the necessary tools and materials. Wear an anti-static wrist strap to prevent static discharge. Ensure the Surface Pro 11 is powered off and disconnected from any power source.
Soften the Adhesive
Use a heat gun or hairdryer to gently heat the edges of the Surface Pro 11's screen for about 1-2 minutes. This will soften the adhesive holding the screen in place, making it easier to remove without damage.
Remove the Screen
Attach a suction handle near the edge of the screen. Carefully lift the screen while using a plastic opening tool to separate the adhesive around the edges. Work slowly and gently to avoid cracking the screen. Once the screen is detached, carefully disconnect any ribbon cables connecting it to the motherboard.
Remove the Old Battery
Using a Torx T3 screwdriver, remove any screws securing the battery. Gently pry the battery up using a spudger, being careful not to damage any surrounding components. Disconnect the battery connector from the motherboard. If the battery is swollen, handle with extra caution.
Install the New Battery
Place the new battery in the compartment, ensuring it fits snugly. Connect the battery connector to the motherboard. Secure the battery with screws if applicable. Use double-sided adhesive strips to ensure the battery is held in place.
Reattach the Screen
Reattach any ribbon cables to the motherboard. Carefully align the screen back onto the device. Apply gentle pressure around the edges to secure the adhesive. Use the heat gun or hairdryer again if necessary to ensure a strong bond.
Test the Device
Turn on the Surface Pro 11 to ensure it powers up correctly. Check that the screen is responsive and the device charges properly. If any issues arise, double-check all connections and ensure the battery is installed correctly.
