Follow these 8 steps to complete your repair
Power Off and Prepare
Ensure your Surface Pro 11 is completely powered off. Disconnect any peripherals and remove any protective cases or accessories. Place the device on a soft, static-free surface to prevent any scratches during the repair.
Apply Heat
Use an iOpener or heat gun to gently heat the edges of the screen. This will soften the adhesive securing the screen to the frame. Carefully apply heat in a circular motion around the edges for about 1-2 minutes, ensuring not to concentrate the heat in one area to avoid damage.
Remove the Screen
Place a suction cup near the edge of the screen and gently lift to create a small gap. Insert a plastic spudger into the gap and carefully work around the edges to separate the screen from the frame. Use plastic opening tools as needed to help release the adhesive. Take your time to prevent cracking the screen further.
Disconnect the Screen
Once the screen is loose, carefully lift it slightly and use tweezers to disconnect the display cables connecting the screen to the motherboard. Note the orientation of the connectors for reassembly.
Remove Old Adhesive
With the screen removed, use a plastic tool or tweezers to carefully remove any remaining adhesive from the frame. Ensure the surface is clean and free of debris to ensure proper adhesion of the new screen.
Install New Screen
Take the new screen and align it with the device. Reconnect the display cables to the motherboard, ensuring they are securely attached. Place new adhesive strips around the frame, then carefully position and press the new screen into place, ensuring it adheres evenly.
Secure the Screen
Once the new screen is in place, apply gentle pressure along the edges to ensure the adhesive bonds properly. Use a microfiber cloth to clean the screen and remove any fingerprints or smudges.
Test the Device
Power on the Surface Pro 11 and test the new screen for functionality. Ensure the touch response and display clarity are satisfactory. If everything is functioning properly, reattach any accessories and peripherals.
