Follow these 8 steps to complete your repair
Power Down and Prepare the Device
Ensure your Surface Pro 6 is completely powered off. Disconnect any cables or peripherals. Place the device on a clean, flat, and static-free surface.
Heat the Edges of the Screen
Use a heat gun or hairdryer to gently heat the edges of the screen. Move the heat source in a circular motion around the perimeter to soften the adhesive. Be cautious not to overheat the device.
Detach the Screen
Place a suction cup on the screen and gently pull to create a small gap. Insert a plastic opening tool into the gap and carefully slide it around the edges to separate the screen from the frame. Take care to avoid damaging the internal components.
Remove the Screen
Once the screen is loose, carefully lift it to access the connectors underneath. Use the Torx T4 screwdriver to remove any screws securing the connectors. Disconnect the cables using tweezers, noting their original positions.
Clean the Frame
Use a spudger and isopropyl alcohol to remove any remaining adhesive from the frame. Ensure the surface is clean and smooth for the new screen installation.
Install the New Screen
Carefully align the new screen with the device frame. Reconnect the cables in their correct positions and secure them with screws. Ensure all connections are tight and secure.
Secure the Screen with Adhesive
Apply adhesive strips or double-sided tape along the edges of the frame. Gently press the new screen into place, ensuring it is fully adhered and aligned.
Test the Device
Power on the Surface Pro 6 and check the display for functionality. Ensure the touch response and display quality are satisfactory. If issues persist, double-check connections and alignment.
