Follow these 9 steps to complete your repair
Power Off the Device
Press and hold the power button on your tablet until the power menu appears. Select 'Power Off' and wait for the device to completely shut down before proceeding.
Remove the Back Cover
Use a hairdryer or heat gun to gently heat the edges of the back cover for about 1-2 minutes, which helps soften the adhesive. Carefully insert a plastic opening tool into the gap between the back cover and the frame. Gently work your way around the edges to release the clips and remove the back cover.
Disconnect the Battery
Locate the battery connector on the motherboard. Use a spudger to gently pry the battery connector away from the motherboard to disconnect it. This step is crucial to prevent any electrical short during the repair.
Remove the Old Screen
Use a hairdryer or heat gun to gently heat the edges of the front screen to soften the adhesive. Carefully insert a plastic opening tool between the screen and the frame, starting at one corner. Gradually work around the edges to lift the screen away from the frame. Be cautious of the screen's ribbon cable and disconnect it before completely removing the screen.
Clean the Frame
Use tweezers to remove any residue or remaining adhesive from the frame. Dampen a microfiber cloth with isopropyl alcohol and wipe the edges to ensure a clean surface for the new adhesive.
Install the New Screen
Align the new screen with the frame, ensuring the ribbon cable is properly routed. Connect the ribbon cable to the motherboard. Apply new adhesive strips or double-sided adhesive tape around the frame, then press the screen firmly into place to secure it.
Reconnect the Battery
Reconnect the battery connector to the motherboard by pressing it gently into place with a spudger. Ensure it is securely connected to power the device.
Reattach the Back Cover
Align the back cover with the frame and press down firmly around the edges to engage the clips. If necessary, apply gentle heat to ensure the adhesive bonds securely.
Test the New Screen
Power on the device by pressing the power button. Test the new screen for responsiveness and functionality, ensuring all areas of the touch screen are working correctly.
