Power Off the Device
Hold the power button until the power options appear on the screen. Select 'Power Off' to turn off the tablet completely before starting the repair.
Remove the Back Cover
Use a heat gun or hair dryer to apply heat evenly around the edges of the back cover to soften the adhesive. Use a suction cup to create a gap and insert a plastic opening tool to carefully pry off the back cover.
Disconnect the Battery
Using a Phillips #00 screwdriver, remove the screws securing the battery connector cover. Use a spudger to gently disconnect the battery connector from the motherboard to prevent any power running through the device.
Detach the Old Screen
Apply heat around the edges of the screen using a heat gun or hair dryer. Use the suction cup and plastic opening tool to carefully lift and detach the old screen. Be cautious of the ribbon cables connected to the screen.
Disconnect the Screen Cables
Locate and carefully detach the ribbon cables connecting the screen to the motherboard using tweezers. Take note of their positions for reassembly.
Install the New Screen
Connect the new screen's ribbon cables to the motherboard. Position the new screen in place, ensuring it aligns properly. Use adhesive strips to secure the new screen.
Reconnect the Battery
Reattach the battery connector to the motherboard. Secure the battery connector cover with screws using the Phillips #00 screwdriver.
Reattach the Back Cover
Carefully align and press the back cover onto the device. Apply gentle pressure around the edges to ensure the adhesive bonds properly. Apply heat if necessary to help the adhesive set.
Test the New Screen
Power on the device to test the functionality of the new screen. Ensure touch sensitivity and display quality are as expected.
