Power Off the Device
Ensure your Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Lite is completely powered off. Press and hold the power button, then select the 'Power Off' option on the screen. Wait until the device has fully shut down.
Remove the Back Cover
Use a plastic opening tool to gently pry around the edges of the back cover. Carefully work your way around the device until the back cover is completely detached. Set it aside.
Disconnect the Battery
Locate the battery connector on the motherboard. Using a nylon spudger, gently pry up the battery connector to disconnect it, ensuring the device is fully powered off and safe to work on.
Loosen the Adhesive Holding the Screen
Use a heat gun or hair dryer to warm the edges of the screen to soften the adhesive. Hold the heat source about 6 inches away and move it around the edges evenly for about 2-3 minutes.
Remove the Broken Screen
Attach a suction cup near the edge of the screen. Gently pull up on the suction cup while using a plastic opening tool to pry the screen away from the frame. Continue around the edges until the screen is free.
Disconnect the Display Cable
With the screen lifted, locate and disconnect the display cable by gently lifting the connector with a spudger or tweezers. Carefully remove the broken screen and set it aside.
Install the New Screen
Connect the new screen's display cable to the motherboard. Align the new screen with the frame and press it into place. Make sure it sits flush with no gaps.
Secure the Screen with Adhesive
Apply new adhesive strips or double-sided tape around the edges of the frame. Carefully press the new screen down to ensure it is securely attached.
Reconnect the Battery
Reconnect the battery connector to the motherboard by pressing it down into place with a spudger. Ensure it is fully seated.
Reattach the Back Cover
Align the back cover with the device and press down around the edges until it snaps back into place. Ensure all clips are secure.
